«The transformation of simple forms in a variety of new combinations lead to language.» by Hans Richter, from abstract gestures to “Vormittagsspuk” (Ghosts Before Breakfast", with music by Hindemith), 1927/1928

The nature of my work is frequently described as a dialogue between painting and sculpture but is in reality an extension of two dimensional works into three-dimensional space. Its geometric figures are a pure study of shape and form, and do not refer to any real world object. The colours are often connected with the bright colours of my home country.

Ordering is central in my work. This variety of combinations of forms and colours, rhythms and compositions builds my own alphabet. The perception of these shapes and forms are, in some cases, affected by the position of the beholder. The beholder is part of the work.

The work itself can be done very fast, but the preparation of the work can take any length of time. Typically, starts with a sketch on Moleskine book or millimeter paper to create the composition, and then the drawing is executed with computer tools to explore the colour combinations and the lenticular printing. Sometimes two different drawings cannot exist together. The work preparation starts again.
