«Chess is a sport. A violent sport. This detracts from its artistic connections. One intriguing aspect of the game that does imply artistic connotations is the geometrical patterns and variations of the actual set up of the pieces in the combinative, tactical, strategical and positional sense. It is a sad means of expression though - somewhat like religious art- it is not very gay. If anything, it is a struggle.» by Marcel Duchamp

My love and enthusiasm for chess is old, but only at the beginning of 2006 I started my research about the relationship between chess and visual arts – Art and chess: which relation?
My proposal born from the research I have done about the coincidence of opposites. I proposed the opposite positive-negative, since everything in nature is bipolar. I understand that these forces come together, creating harmony and reading real targets of symbolic interpretation that, consequently, distinguishes the bipolarity of the entire symbol.
